MIDTOWN — Fashionistas aren’t the only ones getting fancy for Fashion Week – designers’ pooches are also getting all dolled up on Thursday in celebration of the season’s annual Fashion’s Night Out.

For the second year in a row, Bergdorf Goodman will hold “BG’s Best in Show,” a star-struck performance that will see some of the city’s most famous pooches strutting the catwalk in designer garb.

“Thank you for the most amazing time on FNO,” Bibbu Mohapatra said on the glitzy retail shop’s Facebook page about last year's event. “Gnocco loved being on the runway and was a hit!”

Like last year, this year’s doggie runway show will be mixed in with other festivities, including celebrity appearances, face painting and even karaoke.

The store has taken the event to a new level this year, highlighting each pooch’s personality in a special “interview” on its website.

BG’s Best in Show model pooches include Chaser of the John Barrett Salon, Thyme of Cushnie et Ochs, Stitch of Lela Rose and Lou Lou of Reem Acra.

“I am what you would call a veteran at this,” Miss Lou Lou,”said” in the fake interview on the store’s website.  The mock Q&A accompanies a photograph from Miss Lou Lou's appearance last year — of her beside her owner, both wearing wedding dresses.

“You see, I walked the catwalk last year and it was just too much fun,” she added. “Naturally, I told Ms. Acra that I just had to do it again.”

According to the interview, this year Lou Lou’s stark white fur will be adorned with a look inspired by L’Cage Aux Folles, complete with “yards and yards of marabou feathers and all sorts of bright colors.”

Not every dog was so revealing about his or her future runway outfit, however, choosing rather to be tongue-in-cheek quiet.

“Can’t comment right now as three designers are vying and you know how sensitive these ‘artists’ are,” said Chaser, the dog Bergdorf Goodman proudly compares to Plaza Hotel character Eloise.

“However, people don’t usually look at me and say feminine or ladylike, so I may try to change that this year.”

Chaser, who is pictured in a frilly black tutu “behind stage” at last year’s Best in Show, insists that she’s not a diva.

The same couldn’t be said for the other pups.

“I only wear the latest Cushnie et Ochs,” Best in Show newbie Thyme “revealed.” “For the show I will be decked out in a custom-made look from the Fall 2011 Collection.”

Like other Fashion Week fashionistas, she insists that curious minds will just have to wait to see what will come out on the catwalk.

“I’ve already said too much,” Thyme insisted on the site.
