Police Say Washington Heights Man Was Murdered

A man injured in Washington Heights on August 21 succumbed to his wounds on Sept. 1. Police ruled the death a homicide.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Another death in Washington Heights has been deemed a homicide, police said Friday.

A 55-year-old man suffered a blow to the head on Amsterdam Avenue between 155th and 156th streets on August 21st at 5:00 a.m., according to the NYPD.

Police responded to a 911 call about the unconscious man across the street from 1920 Amsterdam Avenue. He was rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his wounds on Sept. 1.

The investigation is ongoing and there are no arrests at this time.
