EAST VILLAGE — The Bowery — now with Big Gulps.

A 7-Eleven is set to open on the former Skid Row in the coming weeks.

The Slurpee-slinging convenience-store chain is moving into vacant retail space at the corner of East Fourth Street, EV Grieve reported.

The store, located on the ground floor of a 15-story condo building, is scheduled for an opening date of Oct. 5, a 7-Eleven spokeswoman confirmed.

The chain currently has a handful of stores across Manhattan, and hopes to open 100 in the borough by 2015.

A company spokeswoman said the Bowery location would eventually be franchised out, and that its product offerings may adapt over time to serve the surrounding community

"Store operators are encouraged, through the data that they capture... to tailor their selection to their immediate surroundings and their customer base," said Margaret Chabris, the store's director of public relations.

She added that the move to Manhattan makes sense for 7-Eleven, given the chain's abundance in Long Island and the fact that many residents there commute to the city for work.

The news drew mixed reactions as it spread via Twitter Monday.

“I love Slurpees and all, but this is just wrong,” EditrixJen tweeted.

“The 7-Eleven opening on the Bowery is a greater sign of the 2012 apocalypse than the hurricane and earthquake combined,” added StarkOnline.

Some, however, happily greeted the store’s arrival.

“Only living in NYC do I get excited abt things like new 7-Elevens,” mei_mara wrote.

“I want one on the UWS!” pamelacolon added. “#iloveslurpees.”
