High Line to Host Pricey Fundraising Dinner

The High Line has been packed all summer, but will host a dining event for the first time in the fall

MANHATTAN — Nearly a dozen celebrity chefs who have restaurants near the High Line will bring their culinary prowess to the elevated park in October for a pricey fundraising extravaganza.

It's the first time that part of the annual event — cocktails and hors d’oeuvres — will take place on the High Line itself. Attendees then have a chance to enjoy a walk-around tasting dinner at Colicchio & Sons at 85 10th Ave.

Discerning diners will get a chance to watch the sunset over the Hudson while sampling dishes from "Top Chef Judge Tom Colicchio of Colicchio & Sons, Larry Finn of Morimoto, Anthony Ricco of Spice Market and others. The event will then

"This is a tremendous assembly of wonderful chefs and restaurants working around the High Line," said Joshua David, co-founder of Friends of the High Line.

Since the High Line opened in 2009, the area of 10th Avenue around it has become a hotspot for restaurants.

"They’ve given us great reports of increases in business since the High Line opened," David added.

The event will cost $500 to $2,500 per person, with proceeds going to the High Line's maintenance and operation costs.

It will take place on Oct. 23rd at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from Friends of the High Line.
