Police Officer Hospitalized After East Harlem Incident Updated August 15, 2011 8:49pm

EAST HARLEM — A police officer was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury Monday evening after an incident at Park Avenue and 101st Street, officials said.

The officer, who was not immediately identified, was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center just after 8 p.m. after the incident involving a suspect around 7:45 p.m., a fire department spokesman said.

Police confirmed they had a suspect under arrest. Fire officials said a man was arrested and taken to Metropolitan Hospital with minor injuries.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the arrest.
