Cooper Union Building Acts as Backdrop for Hit Series 'White Collar'

EAST VILLAGE — The Cooper Union's landmark Foundation Building was transformed into a swanky hotel Wednesday during a shoot for the hit series "White Collar."

The facade of the 1859 brownstone building, which stands between Astor Place and Cooper Square, was decorated to look like the fictional “Hotel Withrow,” complete with bellhops and a Mercedes limo parked out front.

The New York City-based series, which follows an ex-con working with the FBI to solve white-collar crimes, just finished its third season on the USA Network.
