MANHATTAN — A crash between a taxi and an MTA bus on Broadway at West 66th Street left three people injured Wednesday, according to FDNY officials.

The M5 express bus going north on Broadway pinned the taxi against the median in the center of the road.

"The cab tried to beat the bus," said bus passenger Joseph Decarlo, of the Upper West Side. "I felt like two tons were on me," he said of the crash, which left him unharmed, but shaken.

The taxi driver and his passenger and the bus driver were injured, according to a police officer on the scene. A witness said the cab's door had to be cut off to get the driver out of the car.

The three people hurt in the accident, which happened around 12:20 p.m., were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to the FDNY.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
