Fire Breaks out at UES Apartment Building

UPPER EAST SIDE — A person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Thursday after a small fire in an apartment building, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out on the third floor of 401 E. 68th Street near First Ave. at 1:20 p.m., a fire department spokesman said. Witnesses at the scene said the fire started in a kitchen. The fire was brought under control soon after.

One person was taken to New York Hospital with minor injuries, according to the FDNY.
