UPPER WEST SIDE — A man died Wednesday afternoon after he was pulled unconscious from the Hudson River, police said.

Police responded to a report of a body in the river near West 96th Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway about 3 p.m. NYPD scuba divers removed the unconscious man from the water, then transported him to the 79th Street Boat Basin.

Emergency responders pronounced the man, who was not identified, dead at the scene.

The medical examiner is determining the cause of death, police said.
