MANHATTAN — Glenn Beck said he was "harrassed" in Bryant Park Monday night, while watching Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, New York Magazine’s "Daily Intel" reported Tuesday.

Beck, a former Fox News pundit, claimed that another moviegoer kicked a glass of wine onto his wife's back. During his regular radio show, he let loose a 10-minute diatribe on New Yorkers in general and the young people that allegedly harassed him.

At one point Beck suggested that a couple of people in the crowd may have considered lynching him, the report said.

"These people were some of the most hateful people I had ever seen," he said, according to the site. "I was told a lot last night about how New York hates people like me."

Users submitted pictures of the incident to Gawker, which also attracted Beck's disapproval during his tirade.

An update to the story Wednesday included a commenter who was in the group that spilled wine on Beck's wife.

In the update, Lindsey Piscitell said "the crowd was certainly not *thrilled* that he [Glenn Beck] had shown up." However, after the wine-spilling incident the group of friends assisted Beck's wife.

"I think that it became pretty clear to Beck & co that my friends and I were doing everything in our capacity to help clean the 'mess'," Piscitell said.

Piscitell countered Beck's claims by saying it was actually Beck's two body guards who were guilty of disturbing the peace and "contributing to a considerably less relaxed atmosphere" than is typical at Bryant Park.
