MANHATTAN — Pop superstar Lady Gaga has been sued over sales of her wristbands to help Japan’s earthquake relief efforts, with a class action lawsuit alleging she pocketed donations that should have gone to the victims, Reuters reports.

Gaga was reportedly accused of keeping part of the $5 that every customer paid for the white and red "We Pray for Japan" wristbands, overcharged customers for shipping and "artificially inflated reports of total donations," according to the federal lawsuit filed by 1-800-LAW-FIRM.

"While we commend Lady Gaga for her philanthropic efforts, we want to ensure that claims that 'all proceeds will be donated to Japan's earthquake' are in fact true," Alyson Oliver, an attorney for 1800LAWFIRM, said in a press release.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, reportedly donated $3 million to Japan disaster relief through sales of the wristbands and other ventures.

Gaga and her reps reportedly declined to comment.
