MANHATTAN — Nineteen new acts will grace subway platforms this year as part of the Music Under New York program, the Metropolitan Transit Authority announced Wednesay.

The solo acts and bands were selected from a group of 68 that participated in a day-long audition blitz at Grand Central Station last month.

Winners include swing band the Lost Wandering Blues & Jazz Band, baroque harpist Meta Joy Epstein, mandolin player Keizo Ishibashi and Argentinian guitarist Eric Reimers.

Among the factors considered by the MTA's panel of judges were overall quality, variety and family-friendliness.

More than 100 acts are already part of MUNY, divvying up around 150 weekly performances slots at 25 transit sites across New York.

Italian mandolin player Keizo Ishibashi also secured a spot on the Music Under New York roster.
