MIDTOWN — A man and a child were taken to hospital after an accident involving a black SUV and two cabs Monday afternoon.

Witnesses said the SUV hit the first taxi cab when the driver tried to take a left from West 56th Street on to Broadway heading south just after 2 p.m.

The taxi was then propelled into another cab, witnesses said.

An adult and a child were taken by ambulance to hospital, according to the FDNY.

Broadway was shut down briefly between West 54th Street and West 56th Street, but reopened at 2:30 p.m.

The FDNY and NYPD did not immediately comment.
