MIDTOWN — Talk about perfect timing.

After a nearly month-long delay, the Bryant Park lawn officially opened at noon, just in time for the lunch hour and the spectacular summer weather.

This year’s opening was pushed back by the Bryant Park Corporation  so workers could complete capital improvements, including new irrigation, drainage, and electrical systems, a spokesman said.

"We thank the public for their patience during our lawn reconstruction project," executive director Dan Biederman said. "New irrigation and drainage systems have been installed, which will allow the lawn to re-open more quickly following rainfall. We think all would agree the lawn is now more beautiful than ever.”

The opening usually falls between mid-April and early May depending on the temperature.
