MANHATTAN — An 83-year-old man viciously beaten and robbed in his Greenwich Village home last month died at Beth Israel Hospital Tuesday.

Joseph Sibilla was attacked in his apartment at 31 West 12th Street on April 29. He's been in the hospital with serious injuries since, the NYPD said.

Police said his murderer made off with Sibilla's wallet.

Detectives are searching for a man, between 35 and 40-years-old, of thin build and about five-feet-seven-inches tall in connection to the assault.

The man was captured on security cameras wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a blue and green baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.

At the time of the robbery and assault, the man was wearing a dark coat, blue jeans and a blue and green colored baseball hat, according to police.
