MANHATTAN — The Boss was also the snitch.
Late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner worked as an FBI informant, passing on tips that led to at least one arrest and even helped feds crack a terrorism case, according to the Daily News.
Steinbrenner's FBI file, which was released Monday, shows he worked with the government from 1978 to 1983, the News said.
A letter to the FBI from the Boss' lawyer says, "He know that he placed the lives of his family and himself in jeopardy through being involved in a terrorist matter."
The details of the case were redacted from the file, the News reported.
Steinbrenner became an informant after pleading guilty in 1974 to making illegal contributions to President Nixon's re-election campaign, the News said.
He was pardoned by Ronald Reagan in 1989.
