MANHATTAN - Mayor Bloomberg supports the City Council's move to scale back alternate side parking, but reportedly worries that the plan may be too confusing.

"The more exceptions you have ... then nobody can remember [the rules]," the mayor said on his weekly radio show Friday, according to the Daily News.

Under the legislation, which was passed Thursday, communities that keep their streets clean for two years and maintain a cleanliness rating of at least 90 percent can reduce street cleaning to one day a week per side.

The measure stemmed from the finding that many neighborhoods that keep consistently clean streets have street cleaning four times a week.
