MANHATTAN — Lovable starlet Rachel Bilson appeared with the ever-terrifying German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld Thursday night for the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of their bizarre film collaboration to promote Magnum Ice Cream.

Lagerfeld, who sported his signature look, complete with black leather gloves, directed the three part "short film" series, starring Bilson.

The premiere, held at Frank Gehry's IAC Building in Chelsea, drew notorious Vogue editor and Greenwich Village resident Anna Wintour. Common folk can watch the first of the glorified ice cream commercials on the Magnum website.

Downtown, Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Robert De Niro showed for the night two premiere of "The Bang Bang Club," starring Ryan Phillippe, about a group of young photojournalists in Apartheid South Africa.

The film's stars, including Phillippe, Taylor Kitsch and Malin Akerman, were also there for the BMCC Tribeca screening, along with former reality TV star Jack Osbourne, who looked unrecognizably transformed from his awkward teenage years.

Earlier that day, judges for 2011 film festival gathered for a welcome lunch at Tribeca Lofts. Funnymen Michael Cera, Jason Sudeikis and Rainn Wilson (Dwight, from "The Office") were all in attendance, as was artist-turned-filmmaker Julian Schnabel, who appeared to be wearing a pajama top.

The festival opened Wednesday night with the outdoor premiere of "The Union," a documentary featuring Sir Elton John. The guest list for that event included the Olsen Twins and Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
