EAST HARLEM — A man was gunned down in East Harlem Tuesday afternoon, the fire department said.

The shooting happened at around 4:50 p.m., fire officials said, near the intersection of Park Avenue and 128th Street.

Emergency responders tried to treat the unidentified man at the scene, but he was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m., the FDNY said.

"This is so hard for me to see. I’ve lived here over 30 years. It could have been my child," said Harlem resident Nilsa Diaz, 57.

Diaz, who lives at 129th Street and Lexington Avenue, said she is friends with the family of 17-year-old Cheyenne Baez, who was shot and killed at the Jackie Robinson Houses on East 128th last October.
