MANHATTAN — It might technically be spring, but winter still hasn't released its icy grip on New York City.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning starting midnight Thursday until noon Friday with two to four inches of snow expected to fall around the city.

In addition to the snow, forecasters predict about an inch of rain will fall in the city during the day Thursday.

Conditions are expected to turn icy Thursday afternooon leading into an overnight mix of rain and snow, according to AccuWeather.

Meteorologists said the snow could continue through Friday morning, but snow would give way to rain again by Friday afternoon with sporadic rainfall and a high in the mid-40s going into the weekend.

Winter's not over yet in New York City with forecasters predicting an overnight mix of rain and snow in Manhattan.
