EAST VILLAGE — More Guinness will be flowing on Second Avenue under plans by a pair of liquor-license applicants to open bars on the nightlife-rich stretch.

A new bar/restaurant from the operators of Dempsey's on Second Avenue and Slàinte on the Bowery is slated to land in the space formerly occupied by Asian restaurant Rhong Tiam at the corner of East 5th Street, according to Community Board 3 records.

The unnamed establishment will feature a 20-foot bar and 15 tables, as well as a sidewalk café, three televisions and background music, records show.

Farther up the block, Irish pub Finnerty's between 13th and 14th streets wants to add a second bar to its space. The tavern, which used to be located a block west on Third Avenue and currently acts as a home for fans of the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, is looking to install the 7-foot bar in the back of the establishment.

Over on First Avenue, outer-borough import South Brooklyn Pizza is expanding its operation into an adjacent storefront, which will include two bars and 14 tables, CB 3's record show.

The popular slice joint, near East 7th Street, will also add a takeout counter to the space formerly occupied by Ruben's Empanadas. The pizzeria, which is seeking a license to serve beer and wine, currently serves pies till 5 a.m.

On the Lower East Side, the owners behind East Village mini-empire Frank, Lil' Frankie's and Supper are heading south of Houston Street to open a new Italian restaurant, called Sauce, in the former Kampuchea space on Rivington Street.

The new restaurant will have a bar, 29 tables and is looking to operate from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. seven days per week.

Community Board 3's liquor license committee will hear all the applicants at its next monthly meeting on Mon., April 11.
