MANHATTAN — The first few days of spring are looking awfully winter-like as freezing temperatures and snow move back into the forecast this week.
Wednesday's forecast calls for a dusting of snow in the morning changing over to rain by the early afternoon with a high of just 38 degrees, according to AccuWeather. The rain is expected to switch back over to snow as temperatures fall below freezing Wednesday night; as much as an inch of snow could coat the ground, forecasters said.
Sunday, the first day of spring, was cold and windy and Monday wasn't much better as Manhattanites sloshed through rain and gusty winds to start the workweek.
Tuesday is expected to be sunny and breezy with a high of 53, lulling New Yorkers into the illusion of a spring warm-up just before the mid-week nosedive, according to forecasters.
The remainder of the workweek will dry out but stay cool, with expected highs in the low to mid 40s through the weekend, meteorologists said.
