GREENWICH VILLAGE — The role of Italy in an upcoming TV pilot will be played by ... Greenwich Village.

Vintage Italian autos lined the Macdougal Street Monday morning as crews filmed a period drama called "Pan Am," which will star actress Christina Ricci as a "floozy" flight attendant named Maggie.

"Pan Am," currently in production, is a 1960's-era drama about the pilots and flight attendants who once made Pan American World Airways the most "glamorous" way to fly, according to IMDb.

The scene was being shot Monday inside popular coffee house Caffe Reggio at 119 Macdougal St., and crew members said it was a stand-in for a location in Italy.

The pilot episode is set to appear on ABC in the fall.
