Small Fire Breaks Out in Furniture Store Basement on Upper East Side

UPPER EAST SIDE — A small fire broke out in the basement of a furniture store Wednesday afternoon.

Trash and upholstery stuffing caught fire in the space below Artistic Frame Metal Tables and Seating at 987 Third Ave., at East 59th Street, fire officials at the scene said.

The FDNY got the call at 2:12 p.m., officials said. It was out roughly a half-hour later.

No injuries were reported, the FDNY said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
