MANHATTAN — Legendary Yankee Yogi Berra, 85, was taken to the hospital after falling Thursday morning before a spring training game in Florida, the Associated Press reported.

Yankee General Manager Brian Cashman said Berra slipped after his sneaker caught on some carpet in their clubhouse. He was reportedly joking and smiling after the fall and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

"We're going to make sure it's going to be fine and is fine," Cashman told the AP.

Berra reportedly did not want to go to the hospital before the Yankees played the Phillies at Philadelphia’s spring training home.

The hall of fame catcher was in "good spirits," Cashman said.

Berra was in Florida to help train Yankee players for the upcoming season.
