MIDTOWN — A flagship Zara retail store is coming to Fifth Avenue in one of the most expensive retail condominium deals in the city's history, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Inditex Group of Spain, owner of the trendy men's and women's fast-fashion clothing store, will pay $400 million for the 32,000 square-foot space at 666 Fifth Ave., which formerly housed a NBA store, the Journal reported.

The NBA store had less than three years left on its lease, and the purchase price covers the costs associated with the store's buyout, according to the paper.

Uniqlo, a Japanese-based clothing retailer also at 666 Fifth Ave., recently agreed to pay $300 million over 15 years, which is one of the highest-priced leases ever in the city, the paper reported.

The rest of the space, currently leased by Hollister and Uniqlo, is on the market, according to the paper.
