Mystery Writer Posts Serialized Novel Pages Around East Village Updated March 1, 2011 11:34am

EAST VILLAGE — A mystery author is taking East Village readers on a literary scavenger hunt through the neighborhood with a serialized novel posted in public spaces, the New York Post reported.

The anonymous writer has posted parts of a novel titled "Holy Crap" on street lamp posts along First Avenue and St. Mark's Place, leaving instructions for where readers can find the rest of the story at the bottom of each page, the Post reported.

The plot of the story apparently centers on the minutes after an unidentified narrator becomes a parent, the paper reported.

"A woman walks from the bathroom, whom I still have no memory of, in this bedroom that I have no memory of, and out to some other room that I have no memory of," reads page seven of the story, which was posted on a lampost at Seventh Street and First Avenue.

Other pages of the book were posted on St. Marks Place, the paper reported.

So far, no one has stepped up to claim authorship of the story.
