Batter Up: Inwood Little League Accepting Applications

INWOOD — As temperatures rise, young boys and girls are turning their attention from snowballs to baseballs at Inwood Hill Park.

The Inwood Little League is already warming up for its 2011 season accepting applications for boys and girls ages six to 18 who live throughout the city.

The League plans to hold an event for interested parents on Saturday, Feb. 29, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Salome Urena, I.S. 218 on Broadway at 196th Street.

Registered parents and coaches will then meet for a Parents Day event on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The Inwood Little League is described as the oldest Little League in New York City, according to League offficials, having been founded in 1950.
