MANHATTAN — A woman was critically injured in a fire at an Upper East Side high rise condo a block away from Gracie Mansion early Thursday morning, the FDNY said.

The 33-year-old woman was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center where she was treated for burns and smoke inhailation, the Daily News reported.

"The young lady who had the fire came downstairs screaming 'Fire, fire,' and then she went back up," doorman Arthur Queret told the News.

The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. on the 16th floor of the Channel Club, a 40-story high rise at 455 East 86th Street, the fire department said.

"When she came down, her face looked like it was all black soot," Queret added.

Apartments in the upscale tower sell for as much as $1.3 million, according to City Realty.

At least 50 residents were evacuated as firefighters were arriving on the scene, the paper reported. No other injuries were reported and the fire is still under investigation.
