MANHATTAN — Lady Gaga's boyfriend Lüc Carl, who manages the Lower East Side rock bar St. Jerome, has signed a book deal for a diet manual based on his blog, The Drunk Diet, according to published reports.

The book, to be published by St. Martin's Press, will chronicle Carl's experience as he lost 40 pounds while drinking heavily, according to book publishing blog GalleyCat.

In a blog post from Feb. 6, the rocker writes: "I put in anywhere from 20 to 40 miles nearly every week of the last 2 years, and it never gets easier. The second it gets 'easy' I know I'm not pushing myself hard enough...No matter how difficult the miles become, I am a champion, and quitting is not an option."

On his website, Carl gives a description of the forthcoming book.

"You will not find any 'do this, don’t do that' in The Drunk Diet. This is simply one ordinary rock n roller’s story, filled with awe-inspiring, hilarious accounts of his day to day life," the description reads.

"After reading countless books and being told time after time that it’s impossible to lose weight while drinking alcohol heavily, Lüc Carl decided to take matters into his own hands. Join him on his journey to lose 40 pounds, without giving up his principles of being a hard drinking party maker."

The book is set to be released in 2012, according to GalleyCat.
