Gunman Kills 28-Year-Old on Inwood Street

MANHATTAN — A 28-year-old man was shot dead Saturday night outside an Inwood deli just steps  from his apartment, police said.

Jose Uraga was unconscious with a gunshot wound to the chest when police arrived at the scene, in front of 3859 Tenth Avenue, near West 205th Street, shortly after 8 p.m., the NYPD said.

He was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the department.

Uraga lived above Gonzalez Deli at 3852 Tenth Avenue, just a few doors away from where he was found, police said.

There had been no arrests in the case as of Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
