CHINATOWN — Confetti filled the air Sunday afternoon as thousands lined the streets of Chinatown for the annual Lunar New Year Parade.

A procession of floats, dancers and drummers wended its way through the packed streets as parade-goers were treated to sunny skies and unseasonably balmy weather.

Celebrants kicked off the Year of the Rabbit Thursday, and the festivities will culminate on Feb. 17 with the Lantern Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.
