MANHATTAN — An alleged con man was caught in Midtown with about $500 in fake bills stuck in his underpants, police told the New York Post Wednesday.

Michael Lewis, 24, and his alleged lookout pal Orville Stacey, 24, went on a four-store shopping spree before they were nabbed by the police in a Subway sandwich shop last Thursday, the paper reported.

The duo reportedly bought a suspicious number of snacks from several shops along a strip near West 56th Street and Sixth Avenue, paying with fake $20 bills and getting real money in return, according to the paper.

Officers on patrol followed the two, then demanded to see the bulge of money in the crook's pants — and found they were missing watermarks and proper coloring, the Post reported.

They were charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, according to the Post.
