COLUMBUS CIRCLE — Throngs of excited tweens lined up Monday night for the opportunity to meet the pint-sized, pouf-sporting, pumpkin-hued reality TV star Snooki in her newest role as a novelist.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's entrance received a huge cheer from the more than 200 fans waiting for her in the Time Warner Center Borders.

"I feel like I'm going to start crying when I get up there, and I'm going to tell her I love her," said 15-year-old Kimberly Castano from Staten Island.

Fans started to line up as early as 10 a.m. when the store opened, according to a Borders representative.

Snooki's new novel, "A Shore Thing," tells the story of two cousins who head to the Jersey Shore for a summer of partying. The main character is "pint-size Gia…a carefree, outspoken party girl" who, along with cousin Bella, "a tall, slender athlete who always holds her tongue" takes Seaside Heights by storm for a summer.

According to the publisher's description, the duo "soak up all that Seaside Heights, New Jersey, has to offer: hot guidos, cool clubs, fried Oreos, and lots of tequila," making the novel sound more like a memoir of the MTV reality show — with pseudonyms.

"I'm excited to see if she's really so orange, if she's sporting the pouf, and if she's wearing neon leopard print," said Geneva Robinson, 26, who's studying at Columbia Teacher's College.

"We've been trying to up our celebrity sightings and we had an hour free, so we figured we'd make the trip a few stops on the subway to see her," Robinson added, with more than a hint of sarcasm.

Shoppers in the bookstore weren't surprised to hear that all the commotion was for Snooki.

"It's her stupidity that gets people's minds off of their own lives," said Travis Rogers, 23, of Long Island. "She's a celebrity, yeah, but she's no Harrison Ford or Angelina Jolie, so it's ridiculous that this many people are waiting to see her."

One fan was squealing with excitement after Snooki signed her book.

"I look up to her — my family yells at me when I say that, but I do," said 14-year-old Julianna Emilio of Brooklyn.

"She's so fun and outgoing and is always the life of the party."
