GRAMERCY — Firefighters responded to the swank Gramercy Park Hotel around midnight Tuesday for a smoke-related incident — but didn't find any rockers toking up.

"It wasn't Mick Jagger smoking pot or anything like that," said a hotel staffer, who jokingly said that kind of publicity probably wouldn't hurt the Lexington Avenue hotspot.

The incident had nothing to do with intoxicated mishaps by A-listers who stay at the hotel, but instead was caused by hotel workers closing a chimney flue to prevent snow from coming in.

"We had a small incident with the fireplace flue with no significant impact on the hotel or our ability to provide fabulous lodging and food to our guests," hotel spokesman Scott Koster said.

"We are open for business as usual and looking forward to a great 2012!"
