MANHATTAN CRIMINAL COURT — R&B singer D'Angelo was in a Manhattan courtroom Thursday for a hearing on prostitution charges.
The 36-year-old singer, whose real name is Michael Archer, was arrested for on a soliciting prostitution charge for allegedly offering an uncercover police officer $40 for oral sex, prosecutors said.
D'Angelo appeared in court briefly for a control hearing about scheduling his case.
He's scheduled to return to court on Feb. 25, 2011.
D'Angelo was reportedly driving a Range Rover on March 6 after 2:25 a.m., when he approached the officer at Greenwich and Bethune streets in Greenwich Village, prosecutors said.
