MANHATTAN — A problem on PATH train tracks snarled the Friday morning rush for commuters from New Jersey.

Service was briefly suspended at about 7:20 a.m. between Hoboken and 33rd Street and between Journal Square and 33rd Street because of a "track situation," Port Authority officials said.

Workers at the scene and news reports said the situation was caused by a broken rail.

Service was restored at roughly 8:15 a.m., the Port Authority said.
