MANHATTAN — It would seem New Yorkers need to have more faith.

A survey by Men's Health Magazine ranked the Big Apple as the 84th most religious city in the country.

New York came in behind notable dens of iniquity like Las Vegas, 56th, and Los Angeles, 80th, according to the survey.

The magazine based its findings on "places of worship per capita," the number of religious organizations as well as religious volunteers and donations, according to the article in the December issue.

New York's thousands of places of worship weren't enough to rank us higher, a fact that left some religious leaders a bit skeptical of the survey, according to the Daily News.

"I really find it hard to believe that there is any place that would outrank New York in its diversity of religions and its devoutness to religion," Joseph Zwilling, spokesman for the Archdiocese of New York, told the paper.

Colorado Springs, Colo. took the No. 1 spot, according to the magazine. New Yorkers can have faith that the city ranked higher than Newark, NJ (92) and Burlington, VT which came in dead last on the list of 100.
