GREENWICH VILLAGE — Construction crews put the final touches this week on the newest outpost of Artichoke Basille's Pizza, on MacDougal Street.

The pizza place, which has developed a ravenous following since its first store opened in the East Village two years ago, is slated to open before Thanksgiving on either the 22nd or 23rd of November, employees said.

Artichoke's newest location, next to Keith McNally's Minetta Tavern on MacDougal Street between Bleecker Street and Minetta Lane, will be the third outpost for the pizza company.

A second Artichoke pizza opened in Chelsea at 457 West 17th Street in late September.

Soon after opening in 2008 at 328 East 14th Street, the pizza shop got the endorsement of the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, who spontaneously played air guitar in response to tasting the restaurant's signature artichoke pizza, New York Magazine reported.
