MANHATTAN — The NYPD has released a video of a suspect accused of raping a woman in Washington Heights early Monday.

The man allegedly followed his 42-year-old victim into the elevator of her building near West 179 Street and St. Nicholas Avenue around 3 a.m., police said. Once inside, he sexually assaulted her, then fled the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital, treated and released, police said.

The suspect, described by police as a Hispanic man in his 20s, can be seen in the video approaching a security desk inside an apartment building. He leans up against the counter and appears to speak with someone behind the desk.

The suspect was wearing a blue baseball cap, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a checkered lining, jeans and white sneakers.

In the second part of the video, the suspect can be seen entering the elevator alone on the 18th floor.
