MANHATTAN — Former Mayor Ed Koch appeared on NY1 at the Al Smith dinner Tuesday night sporting a black eye.

Koch, 85, said he sustained the bruise after undergoing eye surgery to remove a blemish.

"Sun damage from 50 years ago when I used to use those aluminum things — you remember those?" the Daily News reported Koch as saying about using sun reflectors.

The former mayor reportedly assured Inside City Hall host Michael Scotto that he was feeling fine.

"I'm recovered and there's no problem," Koch said.
