MANHATTAN — Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo has extended his lead over Republican rival Carl Paladino to a massive 37 percentage points, according to a new Siena College poll.

The poll gives Cuomo the lead among likely voters, with Cuomo polling at 63 percent versus Paladinos' 26. Among New York City voters, that lead increases to a whopping 60 percent.

The poll also shows that more than two-thirds of voters polled have a negative view of Paladino — higher than Gov. David Paterson’s unfavorable rating has ever been, Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said.

Nearly 70 percent also agreed with the statement that Paladino is “a loose cannon” and lacks the temperament to be governor, up “dramatically” from four weeks ago.

“With less than two weeks until Election Day, it’s going to take more than a minor miracle by the Paladino campaign to turn the gubernatorial race around,” Greenberg said in a statement.

The numbers come two days after a circus-show of a debate, in which both candidates refrained from throwing punches.

In the race to fill Cumo’s Attorney General seat, the poll found that Democrat Sen. Eric Schneiderman is now leading Republican challenger Dan Donovan 44 percent to 37 percent. Donovan, the Staten Island’s District Attorney who has been endorsed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Meanwhile, the poll found Tom DiNapoli leading Republican Harry Wilson by 17 points in the State Comptroller’s Race.

Sen. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand also have commanding leads over their opponents.
