HEARALD SQUARE — Dozens of fashion fans wearing nothing but their skivvies waited for hours in the rain Tuesday for a chance to score free clothing from the new Desigual store on Fifth Avenue.

Maya Noel said she wated more than 12 hours for her chance to be one of the hundred people that received free clothing from the Barcelona-based chain, which has opened an outlet on Fifth Avenue, near 34th Street.

"We sat down to save our spot at 10:30 p.m.," said Noel, 23, of Harlem. "We got rained on a lot. Poured on, like Tsunami waves," she added.

But the student, who passed the time with the help of a soggy comforter and some cardboard boxes, said it was all worth it.

"Oh, yeah, I'm going to have $1200 dollars worth of clothes in my closet," she said to cheers of approval from others at the front of the line.

The first 100 people in line were allowed to dash into the store and keep any two items that fit.

Jamal Davis, who wore a purple bandanna, a pair of black boxer shorts and boots, said he spent a debaucherous night on 34th Street.

"We played cards, we played strip poker, we just hung out," said Davis, who added that it wasn't his first time in line. "Last time I got a pair of jeans and a jacket, worth $550," said Davis, from Brooklyn.

Christina Baratt waited for seven hours for a chance to get a new winter coat. She and two friends passed the time and endured the rain with the help of chocolate chip cookies and peanuts.

"We've been here since 2:30 p.m. and we're not cold" she said, but, she added, people only started getting stripping down at seven in the morning.

"I love this store, I just came here for the first time during Fashion Week, so when someone told me: 'stand in your underwear, get free clothes,' I was like, 'I'm there,'" said Barratt, 21.
