MANHATTAN — The mother of a deceased pop songstress is accusing Manhattan's Lady Gaga of stealing her late daughter's style, the New York Post reported.
Yana Morgana, 41, of Staten Island, says her daughter, Lina Morgana, collaborated with Gaga before committing suicide in October 2008, according to the paper.
The two were introduced by a music producer and it was during their meetings at a New Jersey recording studio in early 2007 that Gaga, then known as Stefani Germanotta, lifted Morgana's moves, the grieving mother told the Post.
Now, Yana Morgana wants the "Paparazzi" megastar to acknowledge her daughter's contribution to the Lady Gaga persona and give her the right to release tracks that she recorded with Morgana before the aspiring singer's death, according to the Post.
Lina Morgana's former boyfriend, Tyler Schwab, backed up the mother's story, recalling his surprise the first time he watched a Lady Gaga music video, the paper said.
"It was the same style, the same look, the same music, the same voice, the same jaw line — the way they expressed themselves," Schwab told the Post. "And I was like, 'Is that Lina?' It was so, so shocking. It was like looking at a ghost."
