MANHATTAN — Family members of elderly, wealthy Manhattan heiress Huguette Clark have asked for a court-appointed guardian to oversee her estate, while her accountant and attorney are reportedly under investigation, the New York Post reported.

Clark's accountant, Irving Kamsler, and lawyer, Wallace Bock, have been handling her estate since she entered the hospital more than 20 years ago. But now the men are being investigated for allegedly naming themselves as beneficiaries of a portion of the 104-year-old woman's $500 million inherited fortune, and for possibly mishandling other funds, according to reports.

On Friday, three Clark relatives requested management of her wealth be turned over to a neutral party.

"This morning, three cousins, each representing a different branch of the descendants of William Andrews Clark, filed a petition for the appointment of an independent guardian to manage Ms. Clark's affairs," a statement from the relatives read.

"The petitioners asked that, if the Court finds that relief is appropriate, it appoint as guardian a well-regarded and independent institution that has significant experience managing complex financial matters for wealthy individuals," it continued.

Kamsler is reportedly an ex-convict. Clark is currently living at the Beth Israel Medical Center, where Kamsler reportedly made several recent visits and tried to have her sign documents.
