MANHATTAN — New York's mistake-prone governor set Twitter and blogs ablaze on Tuesday when he stumbled at a press conference and referred to "Race to the Cock" funding.
At a press conference to boast about New York State winning Race to the Top federal funding, the governor misspoke.
"We'd like to thank President Barack Obama and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan for coming up with the Race to the Cock— Top concept...." Paterson said.
Politico picked up on the gaffe and the Twitter-sphere was set atwitter.
"Well, looks like NY Gov. David Paterson won't be getting re-elected now..." said Twitter-user fbihop.
A number of posts simply exclaimed "What?" in regard to the governor's gaffe, but Twitter-user dainpasco summed it up best:
"Keep f***ing that chicken, David Paterson."
Gov. Paterson's spokeswoman had no comment.
