SOHO — A 35-year-old man was stabbed in front of a building on a posh SoHo street Tuesday night, NYPD said.
The man was stabbed in the side on Howard Street, between Broadway and Lafayette streets, about 6:55 p.m. police said.
"I've worked in this area four years and I never saw anything like this," said Luis Delfin, a 43-year-old building maintenance man from Queens.
"It's a very safe neighborhood. Seven o'clock, it could have been me."
A bloody shirt from the crime scene could be seen on the ground in front of upmarket Swedish clothing boutique Dunderdon on Tuesday.
Chic shops including jewelry store Ted Muehling were behind police lines as NYPD investigated the incident.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital. His condition is unknown, police said.
The attacker fled on foot, according to the police. No arrests have been made.
