MANHATTAN — Don't panic if you see fighter jets circling over Manhattan on Monday.

Two F-16 fighter jets will fly over the West Side of Manhattan in the afternoon, according to the Air Force.

The jets will fly over the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum several times as part of Air Force Week at the museum, according to ABC News. There is also an air show planned for Tuesday morning and the National Guard will land a helicopter on the Intrepid on Wednesday.

The Air Force issued a warning in an attempt to avoid the massive panic that followed when Air Force One and an F-16 fighter plane circled lower Manhattan and Liberty Island at low altitude in April 2009.

Residents and workers in lower Manhattan made hundreds of panicked calls, and buildings were evacuated. It was later revealed that the unannounced flyover was actually for a photo shoot. A Washington D.C flyover was immediately canceled.
