MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A former police officer convicted of sexually abusing two women and trying to coerce a teen to performing a sexual favor was sentenced to five years in prison on Thursday.

Wilfredo Rosario, 41, was found guilty of offering to expunge a trespass summons for being in Riverside Park after hours in 2002 exchange for a sexual favor.

He was also guilty of molesting two immigrant mothers in Hamilton Heights in 2008 and 2004. He met the women while on duty by apparently offering to give them information about community activities for their children.

Rape charges were pending against Rosario, but that case was dismissed Thursday because the alleged victim was unwilling to cooperate, prosecutors said.

"You have stained the reputation of every decent and hardworking police officer on the force," Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Daniel FitzGerald at before issuing his sentence. "You've made every officer's job that much more difficult by driving a wedge of mistrust between him and every citizen he needs to deal with."

When offered the chance to speak, Rosario maintained his innocence.

"I believe in the system — one day the truth will come out," he said.
