MANHATTAN — Ten rookie bakers put their skills to the test in Chelsea to make the best-tasting cupcake from a prepared mix, according to the Daily News.

The winner, Katie Rousonelos, of Wisconsin, got a free trip to Los Angeles, where she will serve her cupcakes to TV stars at the preshow gala for the Emmy Awards.

Sponsored by Duncan Hines, the contest took place at the Cupcake Café at West 18th Street, the News reported.

Rousonelos' winning recipe was a red velvet cake with chocolate ganache filling, vanilla bean frosting, and a fresh raspberry topper.

“I’ve never baked many cupcakes before, but in my head, I wanted a cupcake that had the glamour for the Emmy Awards, Rousonelos told the News.
